Educational Farm

Share in our our sustainable, organic lifestyle and farm on our customized educational programs.
Since 2013, at Pulicaro we began leading educational summer programs on our organic farm thanks to a partnership with Putney Student Travel ? link to a family-run organization based in Vermont, U.S.A. For 65 years, Putney has been offering high school students the opportunity and insight to shape their world through exciting travel, unique cultural engagement, new friendships, and fun.
We are honored to describe our program with their words:
Pulicaro boasts over 2,000 olive trees, a fruit orchard, free-range chickens and geese, and acres of gardens filled with heirloom varietals of tomatoes, onions, garlic, pumpkins, and a dizzying array of other fruits and vegetables. Students spend each day in small work groups learning the skills and science behind planting, harvesting, and animal care and should be prepared to break a sweat as they get heir hands dirty in pursuit of this hands-on experience.
You should come to the program with an open mind, and an adventurous palate — excited about new experiences, and prepared not only to eat great food, but take part in the physical and intellectual work necessary to bring great food to the table. You should be enthusiastic about participating fully in a schedule packed with creative and physical activity, and be willing to challenge yourself to make the most of your time in Italy. Much of the day is filled with structured activities, but there are some opportunities to explore your surroundings and make your own discoveries.
